First impressions of the British capital? If I am very honest, I made this visit for as I say «general culture». Besides my interest in the Harry Potter school of magic since I was 9 years old and how beautiful and interesting the red buses are, I did not have too many other things for which London was among my top places to visit in the near future.

I’m more of a less popular, smaller places with some nature. I don’t usually find inspiration in big, overcrowded cities, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised with London, I think it’s the first city I’ve been to where there are too many iconic things, and I love that! It gives so much personality to the place. Not only its monuments and skyscrapers that make the modern and historical contrast something very nice, but also, the cabs, the red buses, the telephones, and that magical touch to Harry Potter of some alleys. There is something special about it all, and yes, I got a little obsessed with the cars!

There is a lot of curiosity in the architectural theme and its contrasts, in the way of living of the English people. In this blog you will not see pictures of food, which is one of the things I enjoy the most in my travels, but as I said, I did not make this trip with high expectations or with a list of things I wanted to try, but it is true that, in my opinion, gastronomically, it is not a place to go with these expectations. What is true is that it is very varied and that is also positive, a city that gives you the opportunity to learn about other cultures outside their countries. Of course, you can’t miss the pubs, they have so many curiosities and for beer lovers like me, many delicious options in different types. However, if you plan to visit it, bring money, because here they charge you for everything!

Movie views

I took this picture from a typical rooftop that I recommend you to visit, the SkyGarden, it has incredible views, we went at night, but I’m sure it must be spectacular during the day too. I felt like I was in a movie!

I didn’t stay long enough to tell you much historical, curious detail about this city, it gave me what I needed to make a general overview, and so general that I took a lot of pictures. And as expected, we did the Harry Potter walking tour of the city.

I have plans to return and go deeper into this city, and of course, now I have opened a window of curiosity for this country, and I have my sights set on its greener areas, it’s all already on the list of what’s to come!

I want to close this post to tell you that everything is possible, even a sunny January day in London… smile and trust!
