The Ticos Cultural is a community-driven organization dedicated to promoting Costa Rican culture, traditions, and identity among Costa Ricans living in Spain and the local community. Through cultural events, artistic activities, educational initiatives, and social gatherings, the group fosters cultural exchange, strengthens connections among members, and celebrates Costa Rica’s rich heritage while building bridges between Costa Rican and Spanish cultures.

I developed a cohesive brand identity for Grupo Cultural Costarricense España designed to visually represent the Costa Rican community in Spain. The system includes logo design, color palette, typography, and graphic elements that ensure consistency across all communication channels while reflecting cultural identity and community values.

Visual system

The color palette was chosen to convey energy, approachability, and cultural recognition.
The typographic selection sought to strike a balance between modernity, accessibility, and visual warmth.

Key Projects

A full brand refresh, corporate material redesign, and website redesign. The company originally operated with an identity inherited from its U.S. parent organization, which limited its own differentiation. I developed a renewed visual identity with a more minimal, clean, and human centered approach, introducing a refined color palette and a simplified design system to establish a distinct and more authentic brand personality.

Languages

All content and marketing materials were developed in four languages: primarily English, as well as Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Italian, ensuring consistency across international markets.

*The materials and references presented are examples of work developed during my time at Veritas Genetics. While I contributed to the execution and creative process, many of the concepts, ideas, and final assets were created collaboratively and are the result of teamwork within the company. As such, the content is not solely my individual intellectual property, but reflects a shared effort across the design and marketing teams.

Visual identity

I developed the brand identity and logo system, creating a warm and recognizable aesthetic inspired by homemade food and everyday Costa Rican traditions. The visual direction combines earthy tones, soft typography, and organic shapes to convey closeness, simplicity, and a homemade experience.

Branding concept

The logo was designed as a visual representation of homemade cooking and connection, using a serving tray as the central graphic element to reinforce the idea of “from our kitchen to your table.” The warm color palette and rounded typography create a welcoming identity that feels authentic, familiar, and approachable.

The organization brings together Puerto Ricans and friends of Puerto Rico to celebrate the island’s rich history, music, art, and cuisine while fostering a sense of community and cultural exchange in Spain.

Managing and creating visual content for Instagram

Brand identity

The visual identity was designed to express the deep cultural connection between Puerto Rico and Spain, bringing together two distinct heritages into a single, meaningful symbol. The logo concept was built around this idea of unity, subtly integrating recognizable elements such as the national flags alongside references to colonial architecture, creating a visual bridge between both cultures.

The result is a brand identity that reflects pride, energy, and the entrepreneurial spirit of the Puerto Rican community abroad. The project also included the development of a cohesive visual system and comprehensive brand guidelines, ensuring consistency while communicating professionalism, cultural authenticity, and a strong sense of belonging.

Website

The website was conceived as a digital hub for Puerto Ricans living in Spain, providing a central space to connect, collaborate, and stay engaged with the community. The user experience was designed around accessibility and engagement, highlighting membership opportunities, events, networking initiatives, and resources that strengthen ties between Puerto Rico and Spain. Through a clean interface, responsive design, and a consistent visual language, the platform helps amplify the organization’s mission while creating a welcoming online experience for current and future members.

The challenge was to build a complete brand identity from concept and naming to visual design that would reflect this sleek, contemporary vision. I developed a cohesive identity that captured the essence of simplicity and modernity through the creation of the name, logo, and graphic system. The result was a bold and distinctive brand that stood out in a competitive market, appealing to an audience drawn to clean, sophisticated design.

Packaging

The design approach focused on clean composition, refined typography, and a premium aesthetic, while maintaining strong shelf recognition.

Each packaging line was differentiated through a soft pastel color palette inspired by the individual vape flavors, creating a subtle yet cohesive system across the product range. This was intentionally contrasted with the actual device design, where more vibrant and saturated tones were used to emphasize the product itself and enhance visual distinction between packaging and product.

In addition to the core product line, I worked on a series of custom packaging designs for special collaborations between MistyPods and other partner brands. These limited edition releases required adapting the visual identity to incorporate co-branding elements while preserving MistyPods’ minimalist language and ensuring consistency across different creative directions.

The result is a versatile packaging system that balances elegance, modernity, and adaptability, supporting both the everyday product line and exclusive collaborative editions.

Design

developed a cohesive visual direction across both their promotional and musical materials. This included the design of their press dossier as well as several single covers.

The creative approach aimed to translate the band’s energetic yet contemporary flamenco-pop identity into a strong and recognizable visual language. Through a careful balance of typography, composition, and imagery, the designs enhance their artistic personality while maintaining clarity and professionalism across different formats.

The resulting materials support both their promotional outreach and digital presence, reinforcing brand consistency and helping position the band with a distinctive and memorable visual identity within the music scene.

2023 - PANAMÁ

Nebula is a Panamanian agency specializing in visual merchandising, digital marketing, and design. The challenge was to create a visual identity that conveyed modernity, clarity, and the agency’s mission of ‘illuminating the client’s ideas.’ The solution was a clean, contemporary logo featuring the unique ‘Nebulin’ element inspired by the brand’s slogan. Paired with dynamic colors and modern typography, the identity strikes a balance between creativity and professionalism. As a result, Nebula successfully positioned itself in the market as an innovative and reliable agency, attracting clients in search of impactful, design-driven solutions.

2022 - CANARY ISLANDS

Dr. Elejabeitia is a renowned surgeon based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The challenge was to create a personal brand that communicated professionalism, excellence, and trust. The solution was a refined logo featuring a stylized silhouette of a woman formed by the doctor’s initials, paired with a color palette that evokes tranquility and confidence. This new visual identity strengthened Dr. Elejabeitia’s reputation and helped foster a closer, more confident connection with his patients.

Acentos is a flamenco show concept led by Allan Naranjo that blends traditional flamenco with diverse musical genres. The challenge was to create a visual identity that captured both the elegance and the innovative spirit of the performance. The solution was a refined logo featuring elegant typography and a color palette that evokes the passion of flamenco while embracing its fusion with other styles. This identity played a key role in the show’s promotion, helping attract a broad and culturally curious audience.
