I take you to relive this journey with me in this beautiful green and blue gallery of photographs of a country that surprised me very positively.
We ventured on a five day road trip through Croatia from north to south. What a wonderful experience, it’s like going through a moving painting: from the green hills to the coastline bathed by the crystal blue Adriatic, dreamlike landscapes and a sense of freedom exploring this country full of beautiful natural contrasts.
The adventure began in the capital, Zagreb. The old town contains medieval architecture, such as the iconic St. Mark’s Church with its colorful mosaic roof. The vibrant atmosphere of Ban Jelačić Square and the Dolac Market, although the weather was not with us, the postcards we were left with of a rainy Zagreb have something interesting and mysterious about them.

Deep connection with the magic of nature: Plitvice
We leave the city to connect with nature in Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of Croatia’s most famous natural treasures. Here we marveled at the 16 interconnected lagoons and their numerous waterfalls, mesmerizing turquoise blue and intense greens. We walk along wooden paths over the crystal clear waters, surrounded by lush vegetation. The boat ride on Lake Kozjak with panoramic views that seemed to be taken out of a fairy tale.

Travel is not only about the destinations we visit, but also about the people we share them with. Every experience becomes more special when the company is just right, and so was my 5-day road trip adventure in Croatia. Together with four dear friends, we traveled through breathtaking landscapes, creating memories that will remain etched forever. It was my first time in this beautiful country, but I know that what made it even more unforgettable was the joy and complicity we shared at every stop, laughter and moment together.
Nothing more beautiful than a road trip along the coast
The road trip continues until we reached Split, where the trip took a special turn as it was my first time in front of the Adriatic Sea, an unforgettable moment. This arm of the Mediterranean, known for its stunning clarity and deep blue tones, left me speechless when I saw it for the first time from Split’s promenade. Over the centuries, this sea has been vital for trade and navigation, and is now famous for its crystal clear waters, paradisiacal beaches and rich marine biodiversity.
First meeting with the Adriatic Sea
After exploring the old town and the majestic Diocletian’s Palace, we embark on an exciting boat excursion. We sailed to the island of Šolta, a haven of peace and nature, with its quiet coves and clear waters perfect for swimming. Later, I arrived at the Blue Lagoon, a paradise of turquoise waters and white sand, where I enjoyed an unforgettable swim in one of the most beautiful corners of the Adriatic, and as a curious fact, the water was not cold.
Dubrovnik: a good ending
We continued our journey by road, unmissable landscapes along the coast until we reached Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic”. These ancient city walls with breathtaking views of the deep blue sea and the characteristic red roofs of the old town, the walk along the famous Stradun street, full of history and iconic landmarks such as the Franciscan Monastery and the Sponza Palace, leaving unforgettable postcards of the Adriatic Sea.
I finish on this occasion by saying that this trip has left me with the most beautiful green and blue views I saw this year. If you are looking for a destination that combines history, spectacular nature and dreamy beaches, Croatia is my recommendation. I hope this small gallery of my tour inspires you as much as it did me.
